Spring Newsletter 2018

Spring is here!

It took a while, but it finally feels like spring, and that can mean only one thing… World Sports Camp 2018 is only 2 MONTHS AWAY!!!  Yes, we really are that excited about this summer. All of our coaches have been hired, and they are all so excited to meet all of the new and returning World Sports Camp family members.

We have a bunch of new activities this year, while continuing some of our favorite traditions. Color War is going to be better than ever, we will have weekly activities at camp including a carnival and bubble soccer, and daily special activities throughout the summer. This really is going to be the greatest summer ever at World Sports Camp!

Meet our New Assistant Director

Meet Erin! We are pleased to introduce everyone to our new Assistant Director, Erin, who has joined our other Assistant Director Jason working alongside Addam and Terry year round in the office. She is already hard at work helping us get ready for the summer, and is excited to meet everyone this summer.

Erin graduated with honors from East Stroudsburg State University near Philidelphia, with a degree in sports Management. She also worked for the Triple-A minor league baseball affiliate of the Phillies, the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs.

Welcome to the family Erin!

New to World Sports Camp

The directors have been working hard behind the scenes planning for next summer, and we have a bunch of new initiatives this summer that we are excited to announce:

Stache Cash – Named after the amazing mustaches of the one and only founder of World Sports Camp, Terry Shand. Athletes will be able to earn “Stache Cash” throughout the summer and spend it on prizes and rewards. These will range from being first in line for food at a meal, getting to stay up later, or even trips to get ice cream or pizza in town.

Carnival at World Sports Camp – During weeks 2 and 4 we will be having a carnival at World Sports Camp for the athletes to spend an afternoon playing fun games and having a great time with their friends.

Bubble Soccer – During weeks 3 and 5 athletes will be able to put aside their usual sports for a couple of hours and get to compete against their friends in Bubble Soccer (as seen on Shark Tank!). It is going to be sooooooo much fun!

World Sports Camp has a New (off season) Home

The World Sports Camp office has moved to a new location, more than double the size of the old office. We are now located at 973 Waterman Avenue in East Providence, RI. The new location is going to allow us to continue to grow, and give us the space and resources needed to make World Sports Camp the greatest camp out there.

Meet Phoebe…

Hi, my name is Phoebe and I am going to be one of the golf coaches this summer at camp.  I am excited to work with all of the athletes, teach and learn from you!!

I am currently enrolled in my final year of college, and was picked to be the captain of my golf team. Last month I won a golf tournament down in Jekyll Island, Georgia and as a result, I am now the number 1 ranked player in women’s golf, Division III.

I look forward to seeing everyone soon!!
